Last weekend I had the opportunity to be part of the WCT Costa Blanca – Benidorm press cycling event. The purpose of this trip was to promote Costa Blanca as a cycling destination. And there is every reason for that. Great weather, quiet roads, close to mountains and ocean at the same time and spectacular scenery make this a cycling paradise. A group of six cyclists around Spain joined this trip: Miquel, ultraendurance cyclist Toni, me, former pro Samuel Soto, European Mountain Champion Sandra and ex-professional Javier Benitez (photo below left to right). In the background the skyline of Benidorm and ocean view.

We stayed in the four star hotel Grand Luxor. One night was way too short to use their amenities including swimming pool and an impressive breakfast buffet.

Although coming from different cycling backgrounds we all connected immediately. I had such a great time to ride with those guys.

I am a big fan of Spain (hence I live here) and I love the Mediterranean atmosphere, the palms, the wide open spaces. Costa Blanca is exactly that!

Thanks for this great experience:
