Dare to go for YOUR goals
How do you go for your goals, especially when they are not aligning with the “norm” or seem impossible? As a cycling record holder, TEDx speaker and talent & leadership coach with decades of experience of going for goals that are not standard or seemingly impossible, I developed a method that helps professionals, leaders and teams to create and pursue purpose-driven and value-based goals.
I call this the RAD method – besides its reference to cycling (in German), it is an abbreviation to Real, Adventurous and Daring – the three main factors to set, pursue and achieve goals for you that make sense! (This is not about setting world records or going faster, longer and higher. I strongly believe in creating goals that align with your values, motivations and strengths.)
Real stands for being authentic and yourself, being aware of your own decisions and motivations – this is the most important (and the most difficult) factor for most.
Adventurous stands for creating YOUR own, individual way, using your strengths and motivations to create a way that keeps you motivated and excited to take it.
Daring stands for taking that first step towards your goal, otherwise it stays a dream. It is about how we often perceive our future and connect change with negative emotions but there is a better thought process that helps you to take those seemingly risky and daring steps towards your goal.
Results of applying the RAD method
Having a support network
Having a vision
Adapting to changes
Trusting in the process
