How do I know when it's time to give up?

The supposedly "right" answer is: never. But sometimes the best decision is to stop pursuing a goal.

I learned that during my second attempt at self-employment. After the failure of my first business, I thought I now knew how to do it.

This time I took a freelance job to have financial security while I built up my business. But the reality of this job didn't meet my expectations at all.

The boss made her team small and I dreaded every meeting. I couldn't sleep and realized how my mental well-being was suffering.

Giving up seemed impossible - it was my financial lifeline.

I told myself, "It's only a year, Moni, hang in there." But the toxic environment worsened and the lack of respect contradicted my core values.

So I resigned. I realized that this could jeopardize my business plans, but I also knew that recovering from mental stress would be much more difficult.

  • I quit because I respect myself.
  • I resigned because I didn't want to compromise my values.
  • I resigned because I trusted that the light in me would shine again and I would see the possibilities in my life once more.

This decision sparked a new drive that is now at the heart of my company's mission - to help leaders and teams develop a mindset based on integrity.

My message: Never allow anyone or anything to question your core values. Respect must never be compromised.
