“We had the good fortune of bringing Monika Sattler to our school and thanks to her talk explaining her RAD philosophy she helped our sport students to find out how to achieve their goals not only for the year but also for their future lives. I believe that the reason she has such an impact on all that she presents to is that she is clearly genuine and motivating in every regard.
It is with only the highest regards that I would recommend Monika for any speaking engagement, for the corporate world, sport or personal.”

#124SPC - Stage 5 13 passes were on the list for t #124SPC - Stage 5
13 passes were on the list for this Tuesday. Got them all - even though it was quite tough. Construction sites, detours, a flat...but beautiful landscape at the same time. Emotions went up and down. Like the roads do. Finished on a high though: 40 passes ticked off the list now. 😊
Let's take on the next 7 on Wednesday.

#124SPC - Stage 4 The week started with 5 passes #124SPC - Stage 4
The week started with 5 passes in the Solothurn area on the agenda.
I was not on my own but rode in company. This made some uphill sections feel a bit less long or steep...😉 It was a perfect day for being in the saddle, until we got hit by some heavy rain on the last pass of the day. But I would call it a great stage anyway and I am motivated to take on the 13 passes (most number of passes in a day) tomorrow. Let's get them ticked off the list...1 ✔️ 2✔️ 3✔️...

#124SPC - Stage 3 This Sunday definitely had a lot #124SPC - Stage 3
This Sunday definitely had a lot of surprises in store for me... Along the way, we got into a contre le montre and a fair, I had a puncture, got into some serious gravel sections, met cows, got chased by dogs, had to adjust the routes a couple of times, had some mean headwind that swallowed a lot of energy etc. The combination of all of this made the day quite special 😉 Meeting an acquaitance by surprise on the last meters towards the top of a climb was nice and having a support team that can also do offroad is definitely priceless...it was a great day and I am looking forward to tomorrow!

...and hey - 8 passes were added to the list of completed passes today.

Another 7 passes ticked off the list.
Once again, the passes were not yet really like the hard ones that are waiting for me mainly in the second half of the challenge. BUT this helps me and the team to get into our routines.
Especially enjoyed getting up the Col the Chasseral even though I was a bit low on energy at that point - but the scenery is always nice and today, I also had great company which made the stage seem to pass much faster. Spirits were always kept high. And that's how I will be approaching stage with 8 passes (of which I know only 1).
Stay tuned 😉

So this was the first stage out of the 26 planned to accomplish my 124 Swiss Passes challenge.

Quick recap (which I will do after every stage): 7 rather small passes that were great as a warm-up and to get into the mood and mode. Mind, body & bike.
The suppport team did a great job on their first day of working together.
Very much looking forward to get another 7 passes off the list on Saturday. ....

Over dinner with a friend in March at the @velober Over dinner with a friend in March at the @veloberlin, the idea of riding all Swiss Passes started. Tomorrow and just five months later, I am heading to the start line with a four-person team and amazing collaboration partners.

What no one saw (except the people close to me) what happened along the way...sleepless nights, trying to get training and logistical and organisational work into 24 hours while finding somewhere recovery, dealing with a dragging sickness, writing a book (for a different project) and staying somewhat sane.

A lot of work goes into it. And tomorrow, all we worked for is finally happening! So, whatever will be happening in the next 26 days, for me, it is already a huge success pulling this project off the ground. And even more so with people who bring so much passion, love and excitement into this project. Let's rock this!

Why the 124 Swiss Passes Challenge? Because the f Why the 124 Swiss Passes Challenge?

Because the feeling of boredom and not being able to follow my dreams scare me more than the thought of failing.

With 4 days to go, I feel very much alive. The emotions are so raw. The feeling of presence so strong and the sense of purpose so intense.

Whatever will happen during the challenge, it has been already a wild ride!
